Creative agency Pd3 has been appointed by O2 to lead all customer activation activity in the new O2 Academy venues, due to open in January 2009.
The news follows the announcement earlier this month that the mobile operator has teamed up with Live Nation's Academy Music Group (AMG) to rebrand all the Group's music arenas as O2 Academy venues.
PD3's previous work with O2 includes creating customer experiences at branded events such as The O2 Wireless Festival and O2 Undiscovered - an initiative to support unsigned music talent.
"Our thinking behind this deal was to be able to deliver enhanced experiences to our customers and we see Pd3 as vital to achieving this," said O2 head of music sponsorship Jasmine Skee.
